Every year the Community Council receives complaints from members of the community who use the right of way to get from Lanelay Road along the houses by Lanelay Park towards Pontyclun. A couple of years ago a tarmac path was funded from the Ynysddu estate towards Talbot Green. However this cycle route diverted up Railway Terrace just before the path goes under the A473 bridge and the tarmac finished here. The remaining secton was left and is prone to large puddles during wet weather.
Local ward members are extremely pleased that RCTCBC can also see the need to ensure the path is usable for the many school children who use it to access Y Pant and to ensure that commuters can use it to access Pontyclun Train Station. To this end the Community Council and RCTCBC are jointly funding the resurfacing the remaining section of the path.
