The Community Council has for many years had brackets on local businesses to install Christmas Trees in December. For the Queen’s Jubilee flags were flown on posts installed into these holders.
In 2023 the posts were adapted to have another posts attached to prevent the flags wrapping themselves around the post. St David’s day saw the Welsh Flag flying prominently in Talbot Green and Llantrisant.
The success of the flags was built upon for the Coronation of King Charles III. Several businesses who did not have a bracket requested one to be installed. The sewing group that meets in Caerlan Hall weekly helped strengthen the flags where they were attached to the second post.
It is planned to resuse the flags each St David’s day, future twinning visits and significant occassions.
